This is an excellent camp/retreat. My family and I came here and stopped for a night on an overlanding trip and our host Rob and his family were so nice. We setup our camp while our kids played with Rob's. We got a tour of the grounds which had nice hiking trails and views. They have cabins, platform tents, and houses to stay in. The kitchen/dining area is an excellent facility and the breakfast they made for us was delicious. This would make an excellent week long retreat area/base camp for your Keweenaw peninsula adventures. Don't forget your fishing poles if you want to cast into the large pond they have (as well as your swimming gear if it's nice out). The picture is morning over our Camp at Northwinds Adventures.
I can't wait to come back to this place. Rob was so kind and accomodating, waiting up past our estimated arrival and even taking the time to give us a tour and share the vision for this place the next morning, his excitement was contagious. We stayed in one of the very cool expedition-style tents. It sits in one of two "tent villages" that one could imagine a group of friends sharing and gathering around the village fire pit at the end of the day. We got to see one of the two new cabins....very nicely appointed and laid out, may be my next booking there! There are trails to hike, bike, snowshoe, etc. and Rob was eager to help us plan our adventures all over the Keweenaw. Whether you have a large group or small, it looks like they have something for everyone. I definitely recommend this place for its proximity to Houghtin, amenities and value.
